Powder Coater

Role Overview

We are recruiting for a Powder Coater to join a reputable sheet metal fabrication company located in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. This is a permanent part-time role with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Overtime opportunities are available and compensated at time and a half. The pay rate can reach up to 31,500 annually or 315.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for coating by thoroughly cleaning and masking surfaces following customer specifications.
• Operate coating machinery including spray guns and powder reclaiming systems to produce high-quality finishes.
• Conduct visual quality checks focusing on paint flow, viscosity, and finish quality with great attention to detail.
• Bake coated components at designated temperatures according to defined procedures and timelines.
• Ensure timely completion of all assigned jobs while maintaining strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Keep equipment clean and well-maintained to optimize performance and ensure workplace safety.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in powder coating or industrial painting, preferably within a sheet metal environment.
• High level of precision and dedication to delivering superior finishing results.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings for part masking and coating processes.
• Self-motivated and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong commitment to quality control and occupational safety.
