Job Overview

The Planner will apply practical knowledge of planning and scheduling within the oil and gas sector, handling a range of straightforward challenges with moderate supervision. This role involves analyzing technical problems and applying industry knowledge, company protocols, and customer insights to find effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed Level 3 and Level 4 EPFCIC schedules for offshore and onshore oil and gas projects following precedence flow diagrams and industry best practices, supervised by Senior Planners.
  • Generate workforce histograms along with progress and quantity curves associated with the schedules.
  • Oversee and review the sequencing of Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Construction, Installation, Hook-Up, Commissioning, and other operations to monitor critical path and project timelines.
  • Identify and accelerate activities causing schedule delays and adjust schedules to accommodate unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive lists of essential resources such as manpower, materials, tools, and equipment for integration into Work Packages.
  • Utilize advanced work package management principles thoroughly.
  • Plan, resource-load, level, and update activities aligned with earned value management systems.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Business Management, or equivalent technical education or experience.
  • Between 5 to 7 years of project planning experience in offshore or onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills including dynamic tables, histograms, curves, and formulas.
  • Understanding of Primavera P6’s interaction with other software and disciplines.
  • Capability to mentor junior planners and provide functional training.
  • Skilled at interpreting and utilizing data to meet informational needs.
  • Experience analyzing historical data and current project trends to extract actionable insights.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Efficient in managing and updating project data and documentation.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite applications.
