Role Overview
This position forms part of a returnship program specifically designed for women resuming their careers. The role is based onsite in Bengaluru and spans a six-month period.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales optimization across assigned product segments focusing on revenue, profit margins, and category growth.
- Oversee comprehensive business activities including analytics, financial and range planning, sourcing, and vendor and team management.
- Develop in-depth product and market knowledge, including cost structures and trend forecasting to inform strategic sales plans.
- Conduct competitive analyses to track trends and assortment strategies effectively.
- Manage financial aspects like sales performance, margins, discounts, and inventory control.
- Coordinate range planning, product-brand alignment, and option planning including Open-To-Buy (OTB) initiatives with central teams.
- Lead inventory management and supply chain processes ensuring timely production within a 30-day cycle from concept to delivery.
- Supervise and lead teams comprising designers, factory operations staff, and sourcing personnel.
- Manage vendor relationships and build a robust network of fabric, printing, and supply partners.
- Collaborate closely with brand partners and coordinate with marketing and sales teams to support category development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of six years in a fashion-related role with hands-on experience in category management.
- Strong understanding of market trends and business dynamics to exercise sound judgement.
- Skilled negotiator with a proven ability to maintain and grow professional networks.
- Comfort with numerical data, analytics, and interpretation to support business decisions.
