About the Role
Rangi Ruru Girls' School is seeking a skilled Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager to lead and expand its fundraising initiatives. This full-time, permanent position offers a chance to cultivate a sustainable culture of giving within a proud network of alumnae, families, trusts, and business collaborators. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the Development Team, focusing on long-term philanthropic growth and fostering strong donor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that balances major gifts, annual giving, gifts in wills, trusts, grants, and business partnerships.
- Establishing and maintaining a donor pipeline, relationships, and systems to support a forthcoming capital campaign.
- Developing and managing a structured Gifts in Wills program that includes a legacy society and meaningful stewardship.
- Securing and cultivating business sponsorships and partnerships aligned with the school's core values.
- Identifying and obtaining funding from trusts, foundations, and institutional sources, including scholarships and bursaries.
- Utilizing CRM tools and donor data to refine strategies, segment donor profiles, and generate reports.
- Leading the Development Team, which comprises the Archives Manager and Alumnae Coordinator.
- Promoting an ethical, donor-focused culture of philanthropy consistent with the school's values across the broader community.
Candidate Profile
- Proven success in securing major gifts and increasing philanthropic revenue.
- Experience in establishing or enhancing fundraising programs.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a genuine interest in team development.
- Capability to formulate strategies, oversee budgets, and organize donor events.
- Excellent relationship management skills with discernment for sensitive discussions.
- Expertise in creating persuasive proposals and impactful communications.
- Strong prospect research, segmentation, pipeline management skills, and familiarity working with CRM or fundraising databases.
- Collaborative mindset with flexibility to attend some events outside regular hours.
- Preferred but not required: existing connections within Christchurch or broader philanthropic networks.
