Role overview
Join a community-based, independently owned store and support the delivery of health, beauty, and convenience services while keeping the customer at the heart of every decision.
This position is responsible for running pharmacy operations during assigned shifts, offering professional advice to customers and health-care providers, working to the full scope of practice, dispensing prescriptions accurately, and supporting dispensary operations.
Customer service and professional practice
- Greet every customer who comes to the pharmacy area.
- Work in line with all federal and provincial laws, regulations, and professional requirements.
- Protect customer privacy and follow all consent and confidentiality rules.
- Advise on prescriptions and over-the-counter or behind-the-counter products.
- Deliver professional services to the fullest extent permitted within your competency.
- Maintain a visible and identifiable professional presence for the public.
- Verify that every prescription is dispensed accurately and appropriately.
- Coordinate with other health-care professionals within the circle of care to support patient needs.
- Keep all required records in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and internal policy.
Workflow and inventory control
- Manage dispensary access to safeguard inventory and patient confidentiality.
- Review workflow queues each day and keep them current.
- Check will-call bins regularly according to standard operating procedures.
- Inspect stock for expired products.
- Monitor inventory levels and medication orders from the wholesaler.
- Ensure all documentation and control requirements for controlled substances are met, including reporting obligations to Health Canada and other regulators.
Store operations
- Keep entry and pickup areas, counselling and waiting spaces, and workstations neat and professional.
- Participate in financial reporting activities where needed.
- Review and respond to internal store communications on the in-store web platform.
- Complete incident reports for any medication-related or privacy-related issues involving customers or staff.

- Use independent judgment to resolve questions and operational issues.
- Plan work, coordinate tasks, delegate responsibilities, and coach pharmacy colleagues.
- Help grow the business, lead by example, and support company programs.
- Consistently deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain strong customer relationship skills and a high level of professionalism.
- Apply strong problem-solving ability and turn plans into action.
- Use personal computing tools confidently; experience with pharmacy systems is an advantage.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
- Complete required training and optional continuing education as needed.
