Position Overview
We are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our skilled team responsible for delivering payroll services to over 6,000 employees and more than 8,000 retired personnel. The role is a vital part of People Operations, which manages the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, learning and development, payroll, and time administration. The team also maintains a central employee database for management information, quality monitoring, and compliance, with a focus on process enhancements to ensure user-friendly HR services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and input payroll services for both current employees and retired staff at ESB.
- Provide excellent customer service responding to enquiries from managers, staff, and retirees.
- Ensure adherence to ESB agreements, policies, and terms of employment working alongside HR Shared Services and line managers.
- Keep PAYE and Revenue related data accurate and up to date in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the payroll team and wider HR and pension colleagues to meet payroll deadlines.
- Liaise with third-party providers to maintain payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in administrative roles related to payroll, HR, finance, or customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to function effectively in a team and manage varied responsibilities.
- High attention to detail with the capability to handle complex numerical information accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills to deliver payroll services efficiently and on time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPASS certification in payroll techniques is desirable.
- Experience operating SAP payroll software is advantageous.
Reporting & Location
The position reports to the Payroll Team Lead and is located at ESB's headquarters in Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2. The working arrangement supports hybrid flexibility, requiring a minimum of two days per week onsite for team collaboration, with the remainder able to be worked remotely within the jurisdiction of employment. These arrangements are periodically reviewed according to team and business needs.

Compensation
The salary range is €33,500 to €40,200 annually, contingent upon experience.
