Overview
Pay With Spire is a fast-growing SaaS payments company focused on empowering commerce across in-store, mobile, and web platforms. We are seeking a Payment Operations Data Specialist / Analyst with strong analytical skills and a passion for transforming manual financial processes into efficient automated workflows using modern tools like Azure and Superset.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement optimized SQL queries in Azure Synapse Analytics to automate the ingestion, matching, and reconciliation of daily settlement data.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to convert manual file transfers into automated data pipelines within the Azure environment.
- Investigate historical transaction data and ACH return codes to identify root causes of discrepancies and recommend upstream process improvements.
- Conduct daily reconciliations across bank accounts, payments, receipts, billing, and processing fees to ensure complete accuracy.
- Lead monthly partner settlement reconciliations and support user acceptance testing for new financial technology integrations.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory guidelines, industry norms, and internal policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or equivalent experience in banking or fintech operations with a background in high-volume settlements.
- Proficient in SQL, especially with Azure Synapse / Data Lake technologies.
- Experienced in building business intelligence dashboards using tools like Apache Superset, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Advanced Excel expertise including XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data normalization to accurately handle large datasets during automation transitions.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset to analyze complex transaction discrepancies under tight daily cutoffs.
- Familiarity with banking portals, payment gateways, and interpreting technical transaction logs.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey technical findings and action steps to cross-functional teams.

Additional Information
