Overview

The Retail Associate position at the Houston Rockets Team Shop plays a vital role in driving total store performance. The primary aim is to ensure customers enjoy a comprehensive shopping experience, leveraging product insights and maintaining store environment engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory control and product stewardship efficiently.
• Execute store opening, operating, and closing procedures.
• Maintain merchandise displays and store fixtures in optimal condition.
• Regularly perform physical stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Handle various payment methods accurately during transactions.
• Operate the point-of-sale system to process all sales.
• Set up and dismantle retail locations, particularly during events.
• Deliver professional customer service on the sales floor and at checkout points.
• Greet customers warmly and direct them to relevant product areas.
• Inform and educate customers about merchandise features and benefits.
• Collaborate with teammates to enhance sales efforts and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of high school education.
• At least two years of experience in retail and/or sales environments.
• Proven skills in customer service and effective communication.
• High self-motivation and ability to multitask within a team setting.
• Professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Capacity to meet established sales targets consistently.
• Ability to sustain energetic performance through entire work shifts.
• Dependability and compliance with supervisory instructions.
• Successful completion of background and credit checks.
• Basic proficiency in mathematics verified by testing.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Frequent standing, sitting, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing during work hours.
• Visual acuity including close-range focus adjustment.
• Physical ability to lift weights up to 20 pounds.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules and locations.
