Overview
EDOXI is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Part-Time Medical Coding Trainer based in Doha, Qatar, to conduct engaging training sessions that cover key medical coding systems, healthcare documentation, and industry standards. The role focuses on equipping learners with skills and knowledge to achieve industry certification and excel in healthcare coding careers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver focused instruction on medical coding systems including ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Create and regularly update comprehensive educational materials, presentations, assignments, and evaluation tools.
- Conduct training sessions in various formats including classroom, online, or a blend of both as per schedule.
- Teach medical terminology along with anatomy, physiology, and related disease concepts essential for accurate coding.
- Provide hands-on coding exercises, case studies, and simulate authentic scenarios to enhance learner understanding.
- Assess learner progress and provide detailed, constructive feedback to support development.
- Prepare students thoroughly for certification exams like CPC, CCS, CCA, or similar credentials.
- Maintain records of attendance, assessments, and learner progress to ensure training effectiveness.
- Keep abreast of the latest changes in coding regulations, payer policies, and the healthcare sector.
- Offer guidance on career opportunities and interview preparation to trainees when needed.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Information Management, or a related healthcare discipline.
- Preferably hold certifications such as CPC, CCS, CCA, CIC, or equivalent.
- Bring at least 2 to 5 years of direct experience in medical coding practice.
- Prior experience in training or teaching is strongly favored.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS medical coding systems.
- Strong presentation and facilitation capabilities to effectively deliver content.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to engage learners.
- Ability to break down complex coding topics into simpler, more understandable components.
- Competency in Microsoft Office tools and familiar with virtual learning platforms.
- Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
Working Conditions
The position offers flexible working hours aligned with training schedules, including availability during evenings and weekends as required.
