About the Role
Contribute to maintaining Blacktown's parks, reserves, and open spaces as part of the Greenspace Services team. This role involves carrying out essential upkeep tasks that ensure local parks, gardens, sports fields, and recreational areas remain attractive and accessible for the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, edging, planting, pruning, watering garden beds, controlling weeds, and collecting litter.
- Operate machinery safely, including mowers and whipper snippers, while also handling the upkeep of tools and equipment.
- Follow work schedules and standards to complete tasks efficiently and professionally.
- Collaborate with team leaders and crew members to keep Council-owned facilities and community spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Identify safety hazards and adhere strictly to safety protocols.
Candidate Requirements
- Genuine interest in outdoor, physical work in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to work well within a team environment and take pride in quality results.
