Role Overview
The Paralegal position involves providing essential support to attorneys engaged in high-stakes commercial litigation within state and federal courts across the U.S. This role is based onsite in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate tracking of deadlines and ensuring strict adherence, preparing and drafting legal documents, systematically organizing case files, conducting both legal and factual research, and aiding with discovery and document production processes.
The individual will also be tasked with reviewing, summarizing, and managing extensive volumes of documentation, managing case calendars and critical deadlines, and preparing necessary materials for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials. Effective communication with internal teams, clients, and external parties is required, along with coordinating court filings across multiple jurisdictions and ensuring full compliance with judicial procedures and regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-focused, highly organized, and capable of thriving within a fast-paced, cooperative setting.
Qualifications
- Solid legal knowledge foundation with experience supporting litigation procedures, business deals, or personal injury cases.
- Skilled in preparing various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, correspondence, and transactional paperwork.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with attorneys, clients, courts, and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in conducting advanced legal and factual research utilizing online databases.
- Strong ability to review, organize, summarize, and manage discovery materials and case records.
- Preferred paralegal certification or a related degree; relevant law firm or corporate legal experience is advantageous.
- High-level organization and time management capabilities to handle multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with legal case management software and standard office productivity tools.
- Commitment to maintaining professional ethics, confidentiality, and delivering top-quality work products.
