About the Role
The Paint Assistant will play a vital role within our Agri Retail division, focusing on supporting the sales team to deliver exceptional customer service and after-sales support. Located at O'Brien Street in Tipperary Town and reporting directly to the Retail Store Manager, this role aims to ensure customers receive excellent service and the shop is maintained to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively with customers to provide outstanding service consistently.
- Maintain the DIY and light hardware section in exceptional condition.
- Conduct ongoing market research to align product offerings with customer needs.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to promote key stock items and ensure promotional displays are properly arranged following company guidelines.
- Efficiently handle customer and telephone inquiries with professionalism.
- Order and restock display areas while maintaining store presentation standards per Health and Safety protocols.
- Complete sales transactions, including entering new orders and processing payments.
- Manage after-sales issues such as exchanges, credit notes, and refunds.
- Operate the cash register including till float, cheque recording, till emptying, lodgement processing, and totals reconciliation as instructed.
- Process invoices, related documentation, and postal tasks.
- Collect customer details, provide product information, and guide customers to related products.
- Manage returns to suppliers or representatives when necessary.
- Demonstrate flexibility across all areas of the store as needed.
- Follow directions from the Store Manager for assigned duties.
- Ensure daily adherence to health and safety procedures onsite.
- Strive to meet Key Performance Indicators set by the Store Manager.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven background in customer-facing roles.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience in the DIY and/or paint industry.
