Job Overview
The Pae Tukutuku role is essential for the smooth functioning of the Māori Land Court within the Tairāwhiti District (Gisborne). This position substantially contributes to the lives of tangata whenua by managing applications regarding Māori Land and ensuring efficient customer service and information flow to facilitate timely court proceedings. A valid full driver's license is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact point to assist applicants, ensuring accurate completion of applications for progression through Pataka Whenua.
- Handle inquiries received in person, via the website, or email promptly and professionally.
- Support the setup and facilitation of dispute resolution processes.
- Prepare draft submissions and reports using the Court's records.
- Conduct whakapapa research to verify ownership information.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong background in customer service with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of acting with tact and discretion.
- Proficient computer skills alongside robust written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organization and time management skills.
- Research proficiency and the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
- Understanding and respect for cultural aspects, particularly Tikanga Māori.
