Role Overview
The Orientation Specialist will plan and run orientation programs, work with different teams to prepare materials and logistics, manage onboarding content in the Learning Management System (LMS), and help ensure that every new employee has a smooth, supportive, and positive start. The role is focused on delivering onboarding sessions that are engaging, compliant, and tailored to the needs of each position so that new joiners can become confident and productive faster.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the new hire orientation process and help create a welcoming onboarding experience for every employee.
- Lead sessions covering company culture, conduct expectations, EHS/HV awareness where relevant, quality mindset, and digital tools.
- Arrange site tours, guest subject-matter experts, assessments, and first-day requirements such as badges and PPE.
- Prepare, update, and maintain onboarding resources while managing LMS sessions and completion tracking.
- Monitor 30/60/90-day check-ins and follow up on buddy program results.
- Run weekly orientation programs to give new employees key company information.
- Coordinate with HR, IT, and other teams to secure materials, rooms, and other resources needed for a seamless onboarding process.
- Keep training information current on the intranet and LMS.
- Provide guidance, support, and clear communication so new hires have a positive experience during their first weeks.
- Enter employee information accurately into the HRIS and maintain personnel records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years of experience in facilitation or onboarding; safety-awareness training experience is preferred.
- Comfort working with e-learning tools and platforms, including LMS environments.
- Strong planning, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Experience delivering virtual training sessions.
- Confident presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple, engaging way.
- Proficiency in MS Office and related business communication tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines consistently.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse groups.
