Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Operator to efficiently handle one or more pieces of equipment within a high voltage cable production facility, ensuring the manufacture of superior quality products while maintaining a safe workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Operatively and safely manage equipment used in cable manufacturing, maintaining cleanliness and quality standards.
- Interact proficiently with Man Machine Interface (MMI) systems and operator displays on the shop floor.
- Comprehend and adhere to Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper equipment functioning and product excellence.
- Accurately complete and uphold all required operational documentation and paperwork.
- Input and oversee production-related data through MMI or touch screen systems, including reports, tally records, and scrap tracking.
- Utilize and maintain hand tools necessary for equipment setup, disassembly, and operation.
- Conduct quality verifications and inspections using micrometers, OTDR, gauge block microscopes, and other relevant instruments to confirm product specifications.

Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma mandatory; technical educational background preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing environments highly desirable.
- Ability to read, write, and understand plant-related documents and protocols.
- Capacity to follow instructions from supervisors and colleagues.
- Basic mathematical competency to interpret process documentation, SOPs, and monitor material and scrap usage.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedural standards.
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
- Willingness to travel temporarily to other North American locations for training purposes.
Physical Demands
- Continuous simple grasping of objects up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to push or pull reels up to 36 inches in diameter using up to 50 pounds of force.
- Carrying distances of up to 10 feet and pushing/pulling distances ranging between 50 to 100 feet.
- Capability to lift loads from heights between 2 to 4 feet.
- Fine motor skills required for inspection, wire manipulation, microscopic analysis, keyboard input, and operating MMI/touch screen devices.
Safety and Work Environment
- Strict adherence to company safety guidelines and protocols is essential.
- Work performed under generally favorable conditions with exposure to electrical environments.
- Mandatory use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
