Job Summary
This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operations so shipments are processed efficiently, on time, and in line with safety, regulatory, and internal company standards. The position also focuses on improving workflows and coordinating with other teams to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and adjust daily staffing schedules so all shipment handling activities are properly covered.
- Track operational KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, and cost, and share regular updates with management.
- Keep communication within the operations team clear and consistent through daily briefings, policy updates, and shipment-handling notices.
- Coordinate with fleet management to make sure vehicles are available, maintained, and assigned effectively during peak periods.
- Set up and uphold quality checks so operational output meets company expectations and customer requirements.
- Respond quickly to disruptions such as delays, equipment issues, or staff shortages to reduce impact on operations.
- Work with warehouse teams to improve inventory movement, loading, and unloading so bottlenecks are reduced and turnaround times improve.
- Partner with Customs Agent teams to improve process flow, monitor pending shipments, manage third-party broker interactions, and help ensure customs clearance is completed within the customer’s expected timeframe.
- Monitor the bonded warehouse for shelving, correct checkpoints, and appropriate action on shipments with higher dwell time.
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure linehaul trucks are roadworthy and maintained on schedule to support airside activities; when required, support airside operations and flight management.
- Manage stock levels of operational consumables, including packaging materials, to prevent shortages and disruption.
- Look for cost-saving opportunities in operations and work with finance to apply budget-conscious practices.
- Use feedback from customer-facing teams to refine operations and address recurring service issues.
- Review current processes regularly and implement improvements that increase efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with logistics, customer service, sales, and other departments on projects that affect or depend on operations, aligning goals and improving outcomes.
Skills and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business Management, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management ability within a logistics setting.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to improve operational processes.
- Understanding of import and export regulations is beneficial.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
