Operations Labourer

Position Summary

The role of Operations Labourer involves performing a variety of general labor tasks safely and efficiently at facilities such as hauling companies, transfer stations, recycling centers, or landfills. Duties include yard maintenance, fueling equipment, operating vehicles, and general upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order of work areas.
• Refuel both vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Clean tracks on equipment like track-type vehicles.
• Perform outdoor yard duties such as mowing grass and picking up paper debris.
• Operate various on-site vehicles and machinery including water trucks, pickup trucks, sweepers, mowers, and trimming tools.
• Carry out basic maintenance tasks for the office, including painting and janitorial duties.
• Install temporary wind-fencing structures when necessary.
• Control and direct traffic flow within the site.
• Complete other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge in landscaping practices and equipment operation.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and shop instruments.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in task completion.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, remain focused, and manage multiple diverse responsibilities simultaneously.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from $18.05 to $24.80 per hour, depending on the hiring location and jurisdiction minimum wage laws.
