Role overview
The Operations Consultant supports the Operations Supervisor in keeping the stockroom orderly and ensuring merchandise updates are completed accurately and on time. This role also contributes to store presentation, client service, and operational compliance.
Key responsibilities
In this position, you will help maintain backroom and front-of-house standards, support inventory movement, and assist with day-to-day store operations.
- Deliver courteous, polished, and informed service to clients whenever support is needed during store hours.
- Help train other cashiers and consultants on POS and MPOS systems.
- Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and aligned with store standards.
- Support Sephora’s merchandising standards and presentation guidelines.
- Take part in efforts aimed at reducing shortage and loss.
- Receive and process shipments in a timely way.
- Maintain the stockroom according to company expectations.
- Handle transfers, damaged goods, and testers in line with procedures.
- Check in visual merchandising materials and report missing or damaged items to the Operations Supervisor.
- Help ensure a safe, neat, and orderly work environment at all times.
- Escalate inventory concerns to supervisors, assistant managers, or the store manager.
- Follow all sampling rules and related procedures.
- Support inventory control activities.
- Cross-train for cashier duties when designated.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience in retail or client service, ideally with stockroom exposure.
- Strong computer, math, and organizational abilities.
- Comfort working on multiple tasks while staying attentive to customers and store needs.
- Good time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
