Job description
Overview
This role focuses on implementing, validating, and monitoring non-financial risk management processes within the Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) division. It aims to enhance operational risk methodologies, aligning them with global standards while driving value for the BCB business.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently refining operational risk processes to introduce fit-for-purpose, globally benchmarked practices that add value to BCB.
- Overseeing critical functional areas to proactively manage risks, safeguard the organization, and support strong business performance.
- Keeping business management informed about current operational risk levels.
- Providing training and support on operational risk tools to business teams.
- Validating operational incidents and exceptions, conducting root-cause analyses, and suggesting improvements for upstream processes and systems.
- Evaluating new product releases and emerging risks related to changes in products and services offered by BCB.
- Ensuring the fulfillment of operational risk deliverables and strategic goals within Business and Commercial Banking.
- Carrying out sample-based back-testing analyses on vulnerable operational areas to identify gaps and develop standards, procedures, and process maps.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Commerce, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of practical experience with foundational knowledge of BCB operations, risk analysis, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of banking operations with the ability to detect risks and act as a trusted advisor to business units.
