Role overview
This position is centered on building the company’s next phase of growth through new products, new customers, expanded platforms, additional business bookings, and a stronger forward-looking sales funnel. The role is with a client that manufactures casting, forging, and precision machining solutions for the automotive sector.
The focus is on widening the product mix by introducing new offerings, higher-value parts, and technology-led products. The job also calls for using the transition from BS6 to BS7, updates in product technology, changes in customer platforms, and market shifts to gain an early commercial edge and support the business plan.
What you will do
- Generate fresh business bookings from OEM two-wheeler, OEM commercial vehicle, Tier 1, and Tier 2 customers while developing a strong future pipeline.
- Spot product needs at customer end and take ownership of the opportunity through RFQ, development, approval, booking, and launch.
- Leverage the BS6 to BS7 shift by identifying likely product changes early and approaching customers with timely proposals.
- Increase customer value contribution by adding higher-value parts, broader basket coverage, and stronger model-wise presence.
- Coordinate teams across three locations around shared targets, priorities, and disciplined follow-up to drive new business growth.
- Track market growth, customer programmes, model plans, and competitor moves to keep the future funnel healthy and aligned to the strategic plan.
- Work with Engineering, Quality, Operations, PPC, Finance, and Costing teams to speed up closure, product launch, and conversion.
Success measures
- Achievement of planned new business bookings and a strong future funnel.
- Movement in new product development, launches, and product basket expansion.
- Capture of BS7-related opportunities and early customer engagement.
- Addition of technology-led products and growth-enhancing parts.
- Improved OEM account penetration, CPV growth, and sustained business expansion.
Candidate profile
- Hands-on experience in automotive OEM business development and new product development management.
- Solid understanding of the two-wheeler and commercial vehicle markets, product changes, and customer approval processes.
- Ability to lead teams across multiple locations and keep execution aligned.
- Clear communication style, strong follow-up discipline, and practical market awareness.
