Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and customer-oriented Music Administration Assistant to support our Music Department. This role will be integral to the department's daily operations, offering administrative, operational, and front-of-house assistance. Responsibilities include managing instrumental lesson registrations, overseeing instrument hire, coordinating AMEB exams, and supporting a busy schedule of concerts and events. This is a full-time, fixed term contract covering parental leave, ideally starting on 12 October 2026 through November 2027.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is highly organised, approachable, and possesses excellent time management skills. Strong interpersonal abilities, discretion, and professionalism are essential. The role also requires adaptability, initiative, excellent communication skills, and a positive contribution to a collaborative school environment. Prior experience in school or music administration is advantageous but not mandatory.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Experience in administrative roles, preferably related to schools or music departments.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional customer service with a professional and friendly phone manner.
• Effective multitasking and organisational competencies.
• Proven ability to work professionally and supportively with students and teaching staff.
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Experience managing databases such as TASS, Music Monitor, or other school-related systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

• Current Working with Children Check.
• Current National Police Check.
