Role Summary
This position is for an MS Fabric Engineer based in Kolkata, with a virtual interview scheduled for Friday, 3 July. The role calls for 6+ years of experience and focuses on building and managing modern data engineering solutions on the Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Build orchestration workflows in Fabric Data Factory to run Azure Databricks jobs and Python-based scripts.
- Create and support lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake as the storage and processing foundation.
- Move data from Databricks into Fabric OneLake, or set up shortcuts to read Databricks Delta files without physically relocating them.
- Develop efficient ETL and ELT pipelines using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python.
Technical Expertise Needed
- Strong working knowledge of the Azure data stack, especially Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Azure Synapse.
- Solid programming ability in Python and SQL, with occasional use of Scala or Java for custom Spark development.
- Hands-on experience with Fabric Lakehouse, Fabric Data Warehouse, and Power BI integration, including Direct Lake mode.
- Understanding of CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for data deployment workflows.
