Role Overview
Equans invites applications for the position of Mobile Janitor to work across various school sites in North Lanarkshire, located in Bellshill, ML4 3LR. This is a permanent, full-time engagement totaling 37.5 hours per week, with a competitive remuneration package and benefits.
Working Hours and Shift Patterns
The job functions on a rotational schedule spanning two weeks, covering early, mid, and late shifts, with some weekend shifts included. Shifts vary depending on the site and require flexibility.
- For primary schools (5 to 5½ days per week):
- Early shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:00
- Late shift: Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 21:15
- Saturday shift: 08:00 to 12:15
- For high schools (5 days per week):
- Early shift: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:00
- Mid shifts:
- Monday to Wednesday, 08:00 to 16:00
- Saturday and Sunday, 09:00 to 16:15
- Late shifts: Monday to Friday, 14:00 to 22:00
Key Duties
- Secure the opening and closing of school buildings safely.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks and conduct site inspections.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations following established protocols.
- Maintain site security by coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
- Travel between multiple school sites, requiring adaptability and a proactive attitude.
Required Qualifications and Traits
- Possession of a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel (travel expenses reimbursed).
- Reliable and flexible with the ability to manage duties at various locations.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Dedicated to maintaining safety, security, and high-quality standards.
- Previous experience in janitorial services, facilities management, or caretaking.

- Experience working within educational or similar environments.
- Experience in customer service or roles requiring engagement with stakeholders.
