About the Role

Saputo Inc., a leading global dairy processor, invites dedicated professionals to join as a Material Planner at our Plant City, FL location. This role is pivotal in ensuring all necessary packaging and ingredients are acquired timely to maintain seamless operational and production activities. You will collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to meet production demand flawlessly, offering adaptable and efficient solutions in line with demand planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create purchase orders and manage stock transfers for packaging and ingredients at assigned sites, including offsite storage locations.
  • Execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) using SAP in compliance with company policies and inventory guidelines.
  • Maintain and adjust master data accurately following approved business procedures.
  • Ensure correct functioning of system-generated pick lists to facilitate the staging of materials, supporting production schedules.
  • Track inventory movement to identify and proactively address any discrepancies or issues impacting timely planning.
  • Escalate inventory control concerns that deviate from company processes or threaten business operations.
  • Review packaging and ingredient consumption in process orders to verify Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and initiate correction as needed.
  • Detect potential material shortages, coordinate with procurement to source missing items, and escalate critical shortages to production planners and supervisors.
  • Collaborate closely with broader planning teams and other manufacturing sites for optimal supply chain synchronization.
  • Monitor for potential material obsolescence and raise concerns accordingly.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience or an equivalent blend of education and training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, with a preference for SAP experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of effective interaction between plant and planning teams.
