Role Overview
The Marketing, Client Development & Events Coordinator is a junior-level role supporting the Vancouver Client Development team. Reporting to the Client Development Specialist and Director, this role is integral to executing marketing, business development, and event initiatives within the Vancouver office, ensuring all programs and communications are delivered efficiently and in line with firm standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and maintain the Vancouver office's business development activities, including managing lists, calendars, and project trackers covering critical dates and deadlines.
- Support the organization of marketing and client development workflows, optimizing team scheduling and coordination.
- Provide on-site event assistance such as event setup, distribution of materials, reception coordination during check-in, attendance tracking, CRM updates post-event, and facilitating follow-up communications.
- Assist in creating marketing and event collateral, including nametags, signage, presentations, handouts, brochures, ensuring brand consistency.
- Update and maintain practice group deal and matter lists alongside related marketing and business development data.
- Facilitate client development efforts related to legal directory and market recognition submissions, including preparing material for media and publications.
- Help prepare client development budgets, invoices, and monthly reconciliation documents.
- Support the preparation of materials for monthly partner and practice group meetings, such as presentations and agenda documents.
- Manage administrative tasks for the firm's alumni program, including onboarding, consent collection, and CRM data updates.
- Conduct market research, competitive intelligence gathering, and support various business development projects as needed.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with lawyers, legal assistants, business service teams, vendors, and other internal partners.
- Respond to ad hoc requests and provide administrative and coordination support to the Client Development team.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, communications, business, event management, or related discipline, with approximately one to two years of relevant marketing, business development, or event coordination experience; equivalent combinations considered.
- Experience working in professional services or B2B contexts is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects under deadlines with a positive and solution-focused approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with a client-service mindset.
- High attention to detail, good judgment, and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable learning and using CRM systems, event technology, and workflow tools; familiarity with Salesforce and webinar platforms is a plus.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for producing professional marketing materials and delivering outstanding client experiences.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The salary range for this position in British Columbia typically runs from 57000 to 67000 CAD annually, with the final offer depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and market considerations.
Currently, the firm operates on a hybrid work model, requiring mostly onsite presence with up to two remote workdays per week.
