Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will actively engage in hands-on assembly and testing of multimillion-dollar display and wafer fabrication equipment within a cleanroom setting. Your duties will include constructing, repairing, and validating various equipment types such as electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies and components. You'll apply electro-mechanical assembly skills, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, conduct parts audits and defect inspections, and use specialized instruments like test fixtures, electronic measurement devices, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps. Documentation of progress and software installation or repair may also be required to enhance operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Build, repair, and test diverse equipment including electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
- Perform assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs under moderate supervision.
- Conduct audits to verify all necessary parts are present and inspect them for defects, aiming to refine processes.
- Utilize test fixtures, electronic measurement tools, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps to assess assemblies and components.
- Complete detailed documentation on job progress, work expenses, and labor; handle software installation, repair, or programming when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma is mandatory.
- 1 to 2 years experience in semiconductor, display manufacturing, similar industry roles, or relevant military background.
- Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools.
- Preferred: Associate degree, technical certifications or training, and willingness to develop expertise in analytical or operational processes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities based on scientific or procedural methods.
- Holding ASSEET or BSEET qualifications from recognized institutions is an advantage.
Physical Demands
This role is physically intensive, often requiring prolonged standing, walking, working in confined spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting. It requires distinguishing colors and tolerating noisy environments, possibly challenging for noise-sensitive individuals. Work involves use of hand and power tools and may include operation of heavy machinery like forklifts. Cleanroom work necessitates wearing appropriate personal protective equipment including coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
