About the Role

As a Manufacturing Operator II working the evening shift at AbbVie in Westport, you will play a crucial part in the assembly, inspection, and packaging of pharmaceutical products. Your role will focus on maintaining quality standards while adhering to regulatory and safety requirements in a dynamic production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, inspect, and complete manual configurations of product and components to meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Operate semi-automatic production equipment for manufacturing and product finishing.
  • Carry out and record quality checks during manufacturing to verify compliance with batch record specifications.
  • Transfer materials to and from production lines to support efficiency and correct workflow.
  • Follow required safety protocols and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Contribute to the maintenance and effectiveness of the quality assurance system.
  • Execute manual finishing on pharmaceuticals using both semi-automated and automated machinery.
  • Assist with basic activities related to production line changeovers.
  • Verify components and testing tools for accurate labeling and packaging of pharmaceuticals.
  • Support the setup and closing stages of production orders, including managing end-of-batch clearances.
  • Review, audit, and ensure complete and accurate completion of production documentation and data entry.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completion of Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' professional experience, ideally within pharmaceutical production.
  • Understanding of regulations and standards relevant to pharmaceutical products (such as CFR 210/211, cGMP).
  • Prior hands-on experience working in an environment compliant with cGMP is highly desirable.

Additional Information

  • Evening shift schedule: Monday to Thursday, 16:00–23:30; Friday, 12:00–18:00.
  • This is an initial 6-month contract position.
