Role Overview

This role leads credit policy governance for the UK at PayPal, collaborating closely with Enterprise Credit, Compliance, and Legal teams to update and enforce policies in compliance with regulatory and local market needs. It involves monitoring policy adherence, logging breaches and their resolutions, and validating portfolio-level credit risk appetite assessments. The role also encompasses conducting credit risk assessments, business impact analyses, facilitating business continuity activities, and supporting audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead governance of UK credit policies in coordination with second-line defense teams to keep policies aligned with regulations and market requirements.
• Oversee first-line compliance with credit policies, including identifying violations and tracking resolution efforts.
• Validate portfolio-wide credit risk appetite reviews.
• Perform credit risk assessments and business impact analyses while supporting internal and external audit processes.
• Contribute to defining UK credit risk appetite, key risk indicators, and governance frameworks.
• Analyse business trends to guide risk-informed decisions and embed risk considerations into new product and change initiatives.
• Manage risk event reporting and provide independent oversight to first-line risk management to promote continual improvement.
• Identify gaps in risk management processes and propose enhancements to strengthen organizational controls.
• Lead cross-functional projects aimed at boosting risk assessment and mitigation capabilities.
• Support and mentor teams for effective risk management execution and process optimization.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years’ relevant experience combined with a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

This position requires no travel and is based in Dublin, Ireland, operating fully onsite. PayPal provides a balanced hybrid work model for most roles, but this position is onsite.
