Role Overview
The quality assurance manager will oversee the QA team, ensuring that all products comply with internal standards and external quality requirements, particularly adhering to ISO 9001:2015 certification standards. The role includes managing audits, promoting a company-wide quality culture, mentoring staff, and collaborating cross-functionally to address quality concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehend and maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification requirements while fostering a quality-centric culture across the organization.
- Design, implement, and uphold quality assurance systems and protocols.
- Lead internal and external audit activities and provide training to internal auditors on ISO standards.
- Serve as the onsite quality assurance manager during ISO surveillance, certification, and re-certification audits, ensuring compliance and proper documentation use by process owners.
- Work closely with production and supply chain departments to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
- Supervise and mentor the QA inspection team, including conducting annual performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and timecard approvals.
- Verify customer requirements and expectations are accurately met or exceeded by the company.
- Understand existing company policies and recommend improvements to enhance organizational performance.
- Analyze and document corrective actions for any non-conformances, monitor their implementation, and evaluate effectiveness.
- Manage systems that monitor Department of Defense (DLA) quality assurance approvals and oversee planned deliveries of military textile products manufactured by Alphapointe.
- Maintain quality documentation and control records as per company policies.
- Analyze customer complaints and facilitate resolution processes.
- Provide input on specifications for new and existing products as required.
- Ensure calibration of relevant equipment is maintained.
- Perform additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; preference for degrees in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in operations or manufacturing industries.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory audits and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in statistics and numerical analysis combined with strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and quality management software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Work Environment
This position involves occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds and working in a manufacturing setting with variable conditions including some noise and temperature fluctuations.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 per annum.
