Lot Porter

Role overview

Camping World is hiring a Lot Porter to support the movement, upkeep, and organization of recreational vehicles at its Salem, Alabama location. This role is part of the service team and focuses on keeping the lot orderly, vehicles ready for display, and the work environment safe and presentable.

What you will do

• Move and position RVs efficiently throughout the lot.
• Place or remove window price displays on recreational vehicles as directed.
• Carry out weekly lot washes and keep all units and aisles clean.
• Create work orders, monitor issues, and help ensure units remain in proper working condition.
• Pick up trash and debris, empty garbage bins, sweep the area, and maintain a professional-looking lot.
• Protect units and equipment from weather exposure.
• Perform weekly physical inventory checks.
• Make sure slide-outs are retracted, jacks and steps are down, select awnings are extended, and doors are unlocked.
• Keep the work area safe and clean for both customers and coworkers.

What is required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior towing experience is preferred.
• Ability to operate a yard tractor and/or forklift.
• Capability to drive an RV.
• Experience with generators and slide-out operation.
• Ability to repair minor issues and spot problem units.
• Valid driver's license is mandatory.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move up to 50 lbs with assistive equipment.
• Comfort with long periods of standing, bending, stooping, and crawling.
• Willingness to work around heights and hazards involving electrical and welding equipment.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, noisy, dusty, and wet conditions.

Compensation and benefits

The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $15.02 to $28.71, with final pay influenced by skills, experience, training, certifications, licensing, and business needs.
