Job description
Position Overview
The Lot Associate's core responsibility is to assist customers by loading purchased items into their vehicles and maintaining a safe, welcoming parking lot environment. As the initial and final point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service is essential, following The Home Depot's GET (Greet, Engage, Thank) customer service model.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting, engaging, and thanking customers as per company standards.
- Ensure a sufficient number of shopping carts are readily available near the store entrance.
- Initiate open-ended conversations with customers to understand their project needs and expertise.
- Offer assistance in loading products into shopping carts and vehicles.
- Strategize the safest way to load and secure merchandise in customers' vehicles following Safe Loading Training guidelines.
- Maintain safety by keeping all exits and loading zones clear and free of clutter.
- Sweep and remove debris from the front apron and lumber loading areas.
- Adhere strictly to Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
- Use proper safety protocols when handling equipment.

Working Environment and Physical Demands
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings and weekends.
- Role is based in a warehouse environment that may be noisy and dusty.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions while loading and unloading products outdoors.
- Frequent door openings possibly leading to drafts and fluctuations in interior temperature.
- Physical activities such as bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items are required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of retail experience is preferred.
Additional Information
This role reports directly to the Front End Supervisor and does not involve any travel requirements.
The salary range offered for this position is between $18.60 and $19.60 per hour.
