About the Role

This remote contract opportunity is with a leading AI research lab that is looking for seasoned legal professionals to help improve how AI systems interpret, process, and reason through complex legal ideas. The work centers on creating demanding legal prompts, reviewing model outputs, and delivering structured feedback that supports legal-domain AI research.

The position is part-time, fully remote, and designed for flexible, asynchronous collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and review legal questions and evaluation datasets spanning multiple areas of practice.
• Examine AI-generated legal answers for correctness, clarity, and sound reasoning.
• Work through domain-specific legal problems to measure model performance.
• Pull together information from statutes, case law, and academic materials into clear summaries.
• Offer detailed, structured feedback to help AI outputs better reflect legal standards and real-world practice.

Qualifications

• Advanced legal training or qualifications such as a J.D., LL.M., S.J.D., or Ph.D. in Law from a leading university.
• Strong abilities in legal research, analysis, and problem solving.
• Excellent written communication skills and a sharp eye for detail.
• Comfort with combining information from a wide range of legal sources.
• Previous experience in law practice or related industry work, such as litigation, corporate law, or regulatory matters, is preferred.
• Applicants must be located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, or Australia.

Project Details

The assignment is expected to begin immediately and is scheduled for 4 weeks, with the possibility of extension. The time commitment is approximately 20+ hours per week. Work is fully remote and asynchronous, so you can contribute on your own schedule.

Compensation & Contract

This is an hourly independent contractor engagement paid in USD. The stated pay range is $110–$130 per hour, and strong performers may receive an additional bonus of $20–$100 per hour. Payments are made daily through Stripe Connect.
