Position Overview
We are looking for an accomplished Construction Machinery Rental Operations Manager to spearhead the growth and daily management of LiuGong Saudi Company's rental services, while simultaneously aiding our authorized dealers in enhancing their rental operations for sustained success. This position requires expertise in operations leadership, commercial growth, and dealer capability enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct overall rental business activities to ensure smooth operations and profitability.
- Create and implement strategies that optimize fleet utilization and equipment availability.
- Manage all facets of equipment lifecycle including acquisition, deployment, upkeep, refurbishment, and eventual disposal.
- Handle equipment scheduling, logistics, yard management, delivery, and retrieval processes.
- Enforce preventive maintenance schedules to limit equipment downtime.
- Drive rental sales initiatives and expand market presence.
- Identify new business avenues and foster enduring client relationships.
- Oversee rental quoting, contract negotiations, renewals, and compliance.
- Analyze market trends to recommend pricing policies that maintain competitiveness.
- Address and resolve client concerns to uphold high customer satisfaction levels.
- Formulate and administer rental business budgets, keeping a close watch on KPIs such as fleet utilization, equipment availability, rental income, profitability, collections, and return on assets.
- Manage operational expenses including maintenance, logistics, labor, and fleet costs.
- Support credit control and collection efforts minimizing financial risks.
- Ensure adherence to Saudi laws, company guidelines, and health, safety and environmental standards.
- Recruit, guide, and develop rental operations personnel, promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance goals and conduct regular reviews.
- Evaluate dealers’ rental operations capabilities and propose enhancements.
- Advise dealers on fleet planning, operations, pricing, equipment control, contract and credit management, and risk reduction.
- Design and deliver training for dealer staff and management teams.
- Conduct dealership visits to assess performance and recommend business improvements.
- Disseminate LiuGong’s global best practices and encourage dealer network collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical), Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related disciplines.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in construction equipment rental, heavy equipment, or fleet management sectors, including 3 or more years in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Saudi Arabian or GCC markets with familiarity in local regulations and practices within construction equipment business.
- Strong expertise in rental operations encompassing fleet planning, utilization, maintenance, contract management, cost control, pricing, and profitability analysis.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction machinery and its relevant applications.
- Proven financial and commercial capabilities managing budgets, KPIs, pricing, and operational performance.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills capable of managing stakeholders such as customers, dealers, and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Professional command of English, both oral and written.
- Availability and willingness to travel extensively within Saudi Arabia.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Background working with construction equipment manufacturers, dealers, or established equipment rental firms.
- Experience in launching or expanding rental businesses and enhancing dealer rental capabilities.
- Knowledge of rental or fleet management software tools.
- Arabic language proficiency is considered an asset.
