About Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu
Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is the largest state-funded school in New Zealand, accommodating up to 24,000 students simultaneously. It offers personalised learning programmes and courses ranging from early childhood through to NCEA Level 3, including opportunities for young adults and adult learners, primarily delivered via online platforms. Staff are spread across New Zealand, with approximately 75% being teachers (Kaiako).

Role Overview
We are seeking a Learning Support Coordinator based in the Northern Regional Office in Auckland or Whangārei. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week), permanent position starting around July or August 2026. The role focuses on supporting ākonga who require additional learning assistance by identifying needs early and coordinating tailored support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver well-organised, timely learning support interventions, including engaging specialist services.
- Collaborate with kaiako to enhance inclusive teaching practices that cater to diverse learners.
- Foster strong, outcome-oriented partnerships with ākonga, their whānau (families), and external agencies, sustaining clear and effective communication.
Candidate Profile
- Registered New Zealand teacher holding a current practising certificate and possessing solid curriculum expertise.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting learners with varied and complex needs, committed to inclusive and culturally responsive education.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and coordinate support systems effectively among teachers, families, and external parties, coupled with excellent organisational and communication abilities.
