Overview
This is a remote hourly contract role for a Linguistic Expert focused on English language analysis and transcription work. The assignment pays between $40 and $95 per hour, and the expected weekly commitment is 10 to 40 hours.
Core Work
- Convert video audio into accurate transcripts, including detailed time markers.
- Assess and document the speaker’s tone, intent, and emotional expression.
- Review grammar, sentence structure, and overall language quality.
- Clarify specialized vocabulary and interpret meaning based on context.
- Carry out deeper linguistic reviews covering tone, formality level, and situational context.
- Work with other team members to keep outputs aligned and consistent.
- Uphold strong standards in both written and spoken communication throughout the work.
Required Background
- English proficiency at a native or near-native level, with strong written and spoken command.
- Prior experience in transcription, linguistic annotation, or similar language-oriented work.
- Solid knowledge of linguistics, grammar, and language analysis.
- High accuracy and close attention to detail when handling audio and video content.
- Ability to identify and represent tone, emotion, and grammatical subtleties correctly.
- Good planning and time management skills with a consistent deadline-focused approach.
- Comfort working both independently and in a remote team setting.
