Junior Social Media Manager

Role Overview

Serious About Socials is looking for a motivated Junior Social Media Manager to join its team in Wollongong, NSW. This position can be part-time or full-time and offers salary based on experience. The role sits within the agency’s sister business and blends content creation, social strategy, and day-to-day account support for a range of clients.

The work is varied and may include filming behind-the-scenes moments, producing short-form videos, and helping launch creative campaigns for different brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce engaging content for social channels, including photo and video assets.
• Edit short-form videos for Reels, TikTok, and similar formats.
• Manage content scheduling across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Draft captions that align with each client’s tone and brand personality.
• Support content shoots and attend client production days.
• Track trends, audio, and fresh content ideas for campaigns.
• Participate in online community engagement.
• Contribute to monthly reporting and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with the team on campaign ideation.
• Help deliver a high-quality client experience.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong interest in social media and content creation.
• Comfortable filming on an iPhone and using a camera.
• Confidence appearing on camera.
• Video editing experience using CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar tools.
• Clear and effective written communication.
• Good organisation and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
• Self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to learn and respond well to feedback.
• Sharp attention to detail.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and dependable transport.
• Availability to travel for shoots in the Illawarra and Sydney when needed.

• Prior experience managing business social media accounts.
