Overview
Are you looking for an engaging and varied role in the decommissioning of nuclear power plants, nuclear technology, energy, and industrial facilities? Join us as a Junior Engineer and Natural Scientist in Nuclear Technology where you will contribute to important safety and compliance activities in the nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the radionuclide inventory of residual materials and products based on analytical data and existing declarations, including conducting supplementary declarations where required.
- Apply and convert regulatory threshold values related to radiation protection in accordance with StrlSchG and StrlSchV legislation.
- Prepare and internally review concepts for final repository documentation and ensure compliance with radiation protection release approvals.
- Coordinate and carry out container acceptance evaluations while collaborating with nuclear regulatory experts.
- Develop actionable project plans aimed at achieving defined project objectives.
- Collect and analyze project data to produce status reports and formulate recommendations for future measures.
Candidate Profile
- Completed degree in a scientific or engineering discipline, preferably a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Nuclear Applications, Nuclear Technology, Nuclear Waste Management, Nuclear Chemistry, Radiation Protection, Nuclear Physics, or similar fields.
- Fluency in German is mandatory; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Knowledgeable in radiation protection regulations (StrlSchG and StrlSchV) and nuclear physics applications.
- Strong team player with a customer-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nuclear waste management, particularly safety aspects and waste disposal technology processes, is beneficial.
- Familiarity with national and possibly international laws concerning transport, storage, and disposal of radioactive waste.
