Position Overview
Join Gautam & Gautam Associates as a Junior Architectural Professional and embark on a dynamic career path in architectural design. This role demands a solid intermediate grasp of both design and technical elements, with responsibility for specific project components under the guidance of senior architects and project leaders.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing designated sections of projects, receiving periodic oversight from senior team members.
- Show initiative by innovating processes, solving problems, and making sound decisions with meticulous attention to detail.
- Create and coordinate deliverables for presentations and contracts, including diagrams, 3D models, technical drawings, renderings, presentations, physical models, and animations.
- Maintain effective internal communication through proper written, verbal, and visual channels.
- Apply strong conceptual design skills to innovate and incorporate interdisciplinary requirements, advancing project design aspects.
- Actively engage with project teams, offering thoughtful critique and collaboration on ideas.
- Possess intermediate knowledge of building materials, construction systems, specifications, codes, detailing, and techniques, integrating technical strategies into design and documentation across all phases.
- Manage workload and timelines to fulfill project responsibilities with intermittent guidance while mentoring less-experienced colleagues.
- For candidates with 3-4 years of experience, supervise and educate project interns and junior staff to ensure internship criteria compliance, reporting progress weekly to senior architects and firm leadership.
Qualifications & Expectations
- Professional architecture experience ranging from 1 to 4 years with registration under the Council of Architecture (COA).
- Completed professional architectural education: Bachelor’s degree (mandatory 5-year course), with optional Master’s or Doctorate degrees in Architecture. Diplomas or degrees outside of architecture are not accepted.
- Proficient with SketchUp and AutoCAD (both mandatory); knowledge of Revit preferred. Familiarity with parametric and rendering tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper, 3DS Max, and Lumion is advantageous, along with other software like Adobe Suite and MS Office.
- Solid understanding of architectural geometry principles.
- Exhibit initiative, innovation, and meticulous decision-making with high accuracy and precision at project scale.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, consultants, and clients, contributing positively to studio and office dynamics.
- Communicate efficiently with all stakeholders using appropriate channels.
- Comprehend and adhere to firm procedures related to project management and documentation.
