Job Summary

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of buildings by performing comprehensive custodial duties. Key tasks include cleaning floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls and glass surfaces, and waste disposal.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of waste following approved protocols and infection control standards.
• Dust and damp mop floors using designated procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture as needed for thorough cleaning and return them to their proper places.
• Clean specified areas utilizing assigned cleaning materials and equipment while sanitizing all surfaces in accordance with an eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to sustain a safe and clean environment for students, visitors, and staff.
• Identify areas requiring cleaning and take proactive measures to address those needs.
• Complete all assignments designated by supervisors.
• Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations in completing tasks.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, along with shampooing carpets as needed.
• Maintain professional conduct and contribute positively within the team setting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Location

Positions are based primarily at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, 6300 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412, with openings in other schools within the district. Schedules are full-time with variable days, typically from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM. Both full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible scheduling are available.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate ranges from $12.00 to $15.50 per hour.
