Role overview

The business is seeking an IT Technician to support the IT team in keeping day-to-day systems and longer-term infrastructure running effectively. The role is centred on maintaining smooth IT operations and assisting staff with hardware and software issues. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position is required, and knowledge of the Proclaim case management system would be a clear advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Administer internal software used within the organisation.
• Provide desktop support and diagnose issues in Windows 10 environments.
• Support printers, scanners, and other network-connected peripherals.
• Assist with company mobile phones and other mobile devices.
• Help maintain the organisation's telecoms systems.
• Keep the asset register accurate and up to date.
• Support security systems that are connected to the IT network.
• Travel to the Liverpool branch office may occasionally be needed on an ad hoc basis.

Candidate profile

Applicants should have at least 12 months of IT support experience and a solid grasp of Windows-based operating systems, common troubleshooting, network infrastructure, and computer hardware/peripherals. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability is important across a wide range of ICT areas. The role also calls for the ability to prioritise requests received by phone, email, and helpdesk based on business need and user impact, along with confident communication and the ability to manage external support contractors effectively. Good organisation, time management, and an understanding of internal customer service are essential. Experience with Proclaim, Eclipse software, IP telephony such as RingCentral, and work within the legal sector would be beneficial.

Hours and salary

The salary is up to £30,000 depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:30am to 6:30pm, and Friday from 9:30am to 6:00pm. The position is full-time and permanent, based in Sharston, M22 4SN.
