Role Overview and Responsibilities
The IT Support Technician will deliver both first-line and second-line technical support throughout the business, managing IT operations efficiently to ensure users receive prompt, professional assistance. Responsibilities include maintaining optimal functioning of systems and devices, handling user account management, and engaging in ongoing IT department improvements.
- Provide first and second-line assistance for hardware, software, user access, and basic network issues.
- Record, prioritize, investigate, and resolve support tickets within agreed service timeframes, ensuring meticulous documentation.
- Configure, assemble, and deploy user devices like laptops, desktops, and mobile gadgets.
- Support staff onboarding and offboarding, including account creation, permission settings, and allocation of devices.
- Perform routine IT maintenance duties, including software updates, patching, and system health checks.
- Troubleshoot common connectivity issues such as VPN, Wi-Fi, printing, and network access problems.
- Escalate complex technical problems while maintaining ownership and keeping users informed about progress.
- Maintain precise IT asset records to aid equipment tracking and management.
- Contribute to IT improvement initiatives, projects, and system upgrades.
- Offer respectful, clear, and timely user support across the organization.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous employment in IT support, service desk, or comparable technical roles.
- Proficiency with Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and fundamental networking concepts.
- Capability to methodically diagnose and resolve technical and connectivity issues.
- Strong organizational aptitude with effective management of multiple priorities.
- Professional communication skills suited to interacting with users of varied expertise.
- A proactive problem-solving mindset and eagerness for continuous learning and growth.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA or Microsoft qualifications are advantageous.
