Role overview
This position is part of the IT support and inventory function. It focuses on delivering a smooth end-user experience through hardware handling, accessory coordination, device deployment, conference room upkeep, and day-to-day support for a large global user base. It is an entry-level role within IT services, with responsibility for helping more than 70,000 staff worldwide.
Work scope
The role calls for someone who can take on challenging tasks, work independently with little supervision, and step into a leadership capacity when needed.
Key duties
- Manage stock, assets, conference room preventive upkeep, and e-waste recycling activities.
- Keep video conference spaces running smoothly in a busy, high-demand environment with strong focus on user satisfaction.
- Maintain audio and visual performance, and resolve issues or attendee requests during meetings.
- Image, deploy, and retrieve laptops and desktop devices as needed.
- Provide support to a worldwide user population, including IT accessories and workstation setup.
- Record completed work and monitor service levels through ticketing tools.
- Use inventory management systems to preserve accurate stock records and efficient workflows.
- Assist with major global initiatives when required.
- Handle additional tasks as assigned, as responsibilities may expand beyond the list above.
Required qualifications and skills
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, along with at least 5 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Strong written and spoken communication skills are essential, as is the ability to contribute effectively in a large team with limited oversight. The role also requires a customer-focused approach, solid knowledge of inventory and IT practices, comfort working in a fast-moving setting, sound judgment when balancing priorities, and a results-driven mindset.
Preferred background
Experience in business operations is preferred. Prior exposure to customer service work or a similar setting is also an advantage.
Physical requirements
This job includes physical demands that may require lifting and carrying equipment weighing 50 pounds or more several times a day. The work may involve extended sitting or standing, moving around an office environment, frequent use of a computer, and effective communication. Some assignments may also involve repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movements.
