Description de l'emploi
About BullionStar
BullionStar is Singapore's premier precious metals dealership specializing in the sale, repurchase, storage, and global delivery of physical gold, silver, and platinum. Serving a diverse clientele from novices to institutional investors, BullionStar operates a comprehensive showroom in Singapore alongside an extensive e-commerce platform and secure vaults in multiple locations worldwide. The company prides itself on being independently owned and founder-led, maintaining a nimble structure without bureaucratic layers, facilitating swift decision-making and fostering close customer relationships. Every team member has a direct role in delivering trusted and transparent services.
Role Purpose
This position is a fully hands-on engineering role within the IT team focused on maintaining and optimizing the company's technology infrastructure. The individual is responsible for executing the core technical tasks that keep BullionStar's network and systems running efficiently. This role demands deep specialist expertise, dedicated to network configuration, hardware management, and complex problem-solving without involvement in team management or strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot Level 3 network issues, handling complex networking challenges across BullionStar's IT estate.
- Administer network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls to maintain uninterrupted LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity.
- Implement and manage Ubiquiti network environments hands-on.
- Evaluate and resolve Wi-Fi connectivity and performance concerns.
- Carry out structured network cabling tasks such as pulling cables, RJ45 terminations, and cable management runs.
- Install, service, and upgrade servers and other network hardware components.
- Provision and deploy IT equipment including laptops, monitors, and peripherals for employees.
- Troubleshoot a wide range of devices including PCs, TVs, tablets, IoT devices, and other peripherals.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex hardware, software, and network support issues.
- Deploy and oversee IT tools like antivirus software and VPN clients across the network.
- Maintain cybersecurity defenses through patching, updates, backups, and monitoring threat detection systems.
- Develop and maintain scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate routine system tasks and user management.
- Support office security and communication systems such as CCTV, access control, fingerprint scanners, VoIP, and AV meeting equipment.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and user manuals to support repeatable procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses extensive hands-on technical expertise with several years of practical experience in IT engineering.
- Strong foundation in network engineering with proficiency in Ubiquiti products and advanced Level 3 network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Versatile across multiple platforms including hardware assembly, repairs, and OS installations for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Skillful in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation purposes.
- Action-oriented problem solver who prefers personally resolving issues over delegation and strives for precision and quality in technical work.
- Logical and thorough in troubleshooting, aiming to identify root causes rather than applying temporary fixes.
- Dependable and consistently present onsite, aligning with team expectations for reliability.
- Conscious of security protocols, managing privileged access responsibly given the sensitive nature of the business.
- Eligible to work in Singapore and agreeable to background and security clearance processes.
- Progressive in adopting emerging technologies including AI tools to enhance operational efficiency and willing to innovate.
Additional Information
This position is not focused on managerial duties or strategic oversight but purely on hands-on technical engineering. The role requires physical presence on-site, including tasks performed at desks, communication rooms, and physically demanding activities like cabling. It demands advanced networking specialization rather than generalist IT knowledge.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a monthly salary range of SGD 5000 to 6500, supplemented by a bonus of up to three months' pay.
Location and Employment Type
The position is based onsite in Singapore on a full-time, permanent basis.
