About the Role
BEC Arabia invites applications for an experienced Inventory Team Leader to join our Procurement Department based in Riyadh. This position plays a crucial role in the effective management of inventory across a range of construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. You will be responsible for supervising inventory operations, optimizing stock levels, and coordinating material management efforts to ensure timely alignment with project deadlines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the inventory management team to guarantee precise tracking, storing, and distribution of materials over multiple project locations.
- Create and apply inventory control protocols aimed at maximizing stock efficiency and minimizing surplus or shortages.
- Track inventory quantities and prepare detailed status reports to aid procurement strategies and decision-making.
- Liaise with project managers and procurement staff to ensure punctual material delivery and synchronization with project schedules.
- Ensure all inventory activities conform to the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory management software adoption to enhance accuracy and productivity.
- Conduct routine audits of inventory records to detect discrepancies and implement necessary corrections.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on inventory best practices and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to optimize supply chain timelines and reduce delays.
- Support procurement efforts in meeting cost-saving goals through effective inventory oversight.
- Maintain compliance with the Saudization (Nitaqat) program and local labor laws.
- Foster a safety-conscious culture adhering to ISO 45001 and OSHA guidelines throughout inventory functions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience in inventory management, preferably within construction or engineering sectors.
- Proficient use of inventory software like SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC) and related regulatory standards.
- Understanding of ISO 45001 and OSHA safety standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
- Experience working on large-scale projects or within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
- Advanced expertise in SAP Inventory Management or similar systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable building standards like LEED or Mostadam.
- Experience implementing digital inventory tools or IoT tracking technologies.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based in Riyadh with periodic site visits across Saudi Arabia.
- Standard office hours, with possible overtime during crucial project phases.
- Travel to other regional project sites may be required.
