Role overview

West Cork Distillers is hiring an Inspection Operative to join its team in Skibbereen. This position sits within a new business area and is responsible for checking products visually on the production line to help maintain quality and product integrity.

Fluent English is essential, as the role requires full understanding and compliance with health and safety procedures.

Pay and working hours

The base pay is €14.15 per hour, with a 20% shift allowance bringing the total hourly rate to €16.98.

Working schedule: Monday to Thursday, from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Key duties

  • Check items on the conveyor for defects, contamination, or damage and remove anything that does not meet standards.
  • Unload product cases from containers carefully, stacking and handling them correctly to avoid breakage or other damage.
  • Place product cases onto the conveyor and take them off again at the end of the line.
  • Apply company quality standards and raise repeated issues or product non-conformities with the supervisor without delay.
  • Maintain a tidy, hazard-free inspection and conveyor area that remains ready for audit at all times.
  • Follow all site safety rules, including proper PPE use and correct manual handling practices.
  • Work with colleagues and supervisors to keep the line running smoothly and help achieve production targets.
