Role Overview

We are recruiting an Information Security Officer based in Dublin, operating under a hybrid working model. This permanent position at the Officer grade will join the Information Security Office (ISO) to support governance, risk, and compliance initiatives. The role plays a vital part in enabling secure adoption of new technological solutions across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform information security risk assessments related to systems, suppliers, and projects, ensuring proper risk identification and management.
  • Manage risk documentation and assist in tracking and reporting risks.
  • Help develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Lead the operational execution of Technology Enablement Governance (TEG) and New Technology Evaluation & Risk (NTER) processes by guiding stakeholders and reviewing submissions for completeness and risks.
  • Conduct security evaluations for new and current technologies by identifying risks, reviewing vendor controls, and recommending appropriate mitigations.
  • Support the firm's focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies by participating in AI risk assessments and governance, reviewing AI applications for security and data protection, and tracking evolving regulations.
  • Work closely with the Cyber Security Engineering & Operations team to align risk assessments with technical control implementations and remediation actions.
  • Assist in Third Party Risk Management by due diligence tasks such as reviewing vendor documentation, certifications, and tracking remediation.
  • Support audit and assurance activities including preparing evidence for audits, supporting ISO 27001 certification, and contributing to control testing.
  • Promote security awareness firmwide, emphasizing secure technology use, risk ownership, and integration of security into business processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable professional certifications include ISO 27001, CISM, CRISC or equivalents.
  • 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in information security, IT risk or governance, risk and compliance (GRC), ideally within professional services or regulated environments.
  • Experience performing security risk assessments including third-party and supplier evaluations is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of governance processes such as technology onboarding and risk approval is advantageous.
  • Interest or experience in AI security, governance, or AI-related training is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISQM controls or prior work in a professional services firm is a strong plus.

Team and Environment

The Information Security Officer will join a team of 10 IT and information security professionals responsible for safeguarding KPMG Ireland's internal infrastructure. This role collaborates closely with the Cyber Security Engineering & Operations function, forming an independent governance and compliance oversight office.
