Internship Role
We are seeking a proactive Industrial Design Intern to enhance our San Francisco studio team. This hands-on role involves assisting in the full spectrum of the design process — from initial concept ideation, sketching, and CAD modeling to prototyping, selecting Colors, Materials, and Finishes (CMF), rendering visuals, and crafting compelling presentation narratives.
Candidate Requirements
- Exceptional communication abilities to articulate ideas clearly, accept constructive feedback, and actively participate in collaborative team discussions.
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and advanced surface modeling, with a preference for SolidWorks expertise; familiarity with Rhino or Fusion 360 is also advantageous.
- Strong visual communication skills including freehand sketching, layout design, storytelling, and presentation creation.
- Expertise in KeyShot rendering software to produce clean, professional, and persuasive visual content.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced studio environment, contributing across different stages from early concept exploration to detailed design refinement.
- Meticulous attention to form, proportion, materials, CMF, and intricate product details.
- A collaborative and enthusiastic team member who is open to feedback, takes initiative, and flourishes within a small studio setting.
- Availability to work onsite five days a week at our San Francisco location.
Location
This role is based at our studio in San Francisco, California, USA. Candidates must be able to work in person.
