Description de l'emploi
About LMG
LMG is a large and forward-moving aggregator network operating across Australia and New Zealand. It supports more than 6,000 brokers and advisers and works with businesses under their own brand or the Loan Market brand. The group also partners with more than 110 banks and lenders. In FY25, LMG brokers across both countries assisted over 340,000 customers and settled more than $143 billion in loans.
The company has also been recognised as an Australian Financial Review BOSS Best Place to Work in Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services in 2025.
The Opportunity
LMG is looking for an experienced Independent Non-Executive Director based in Australia or the APAC region to join its Australian Board. This person will bring governance expertise, strategic oversight, and an independent perspective to support the organisation’s growth agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Strengthen board governance by helping ensure compliance with the Australian regulatory environment and upholding high ethical standards.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning, with a focus on growth across residential, commercial, and asset finance.
- Provide input on the product and commercial roadmap, including white-label lending and other potential business opportunities.
- Advise on LMG’s AI-led transformation and the development of its broker technology ecosystem.
- Use your network and industry insight to support relationships and partnerships across the lending and insurance sectors.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated leadership in corporate governance, with prior experience as an executive or independent director strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of the Australian financial services sector and the regulatory framework that applies to it.
- Strong understanding of lending products and lending technology.
- Ability to challenge assumptions, bring fresh thinking, and influence senior stakeholders effectively.
- A CA, CPA, AICD, or equivalent governance qualification is highly desirable.
Additional Experience That Would Help
It would be beneficial to have executive-level relationships with lenders and insurers, familiarity with the Australian governance landscape, and experience in lending products and digital transformation.
Conflict of Interest Requirement
For board independence and integrity, applicants who currently hold an executive role with any lending or insurance partner of LMG, or with any competitor of LMG or White Family businesses, cannot be considered because of potential conflicts of interest.
Commitment and Term
- The board meets four times each year for around four hours per meeting, although the organisation is considering increasing the frequency. There is also one annual strategy day with the executive team.
- The director will also sit on the product, tech, and data subcommittee, which meets about four times annually.
- Some extra time will be needed for meeting preparation and for mentoring key executives strategically.
- Meetings take place in Sydney or through online arrangements.
- The appointment is for an initial three-year term, with the option to extend.
- Remuneration will align with market benchmarks, the candidate’s experience, and the level of time commitment required.
Work Arrangement
This is a part-time board position based onsite in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, with meetings also able to be attended online where arranged.
