Position Overview
The company is actively seeking a dedicated HR Generalist based in New York City (Manhattan). This role operates in a hybrid model with a salary range of $98,627 to $120,544 per annum, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skill set.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consistent and high-standard HR support concerning policies, processes, and HR systems.
- Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees, resolving inquiries promptly at the initial point of contact.
- Administer HR information systems and digital records, including ADP, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance of colleague lifecycle data.
- Compile compliance reports and assist with legislative, regulatory, and collective bargaining agreement obligations.
- Oversee vendor interfaces and escalate any operational issues as necessary.
- Handle daily inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and retirees.
- Serve as a primary contact for administering benefits such as Workers’ Compensation, 401(k), pensions, leave policies, and life insurance.
- Maintain union-related documentation including seniority lists, job bid processes, and pay calendars.
- Support immigration and international assignment procedures.
- Engage in initiatives aimed at continuous process improvement and optimization.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an established HR professional with excellent judgment, keen attention to detail, and the aptitude to manage sensitive issues ethically. They should be curious, proactive, and solution-oriented, capable of working collaboratively and maintaining organization within a dynamic workplace. Strong, pragmatic decision-making and exceptional communication skills are essential to provide excellent service to staff and stakeholders alike.
Qualifications and Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Experience with HRIS systems, preferably ADP.
- Familiarity with employment law, data privacy, and confidentiality protocols.
- Proven skill in benefits management.
- Competence in reporting, data analysis, and HR administrative tasks.
- Experience in supporting unionized environments across multiple states, especially New York and California, is advantageous.
