About the Role
Bizerba Canada Inc., based in Mississauga, Ontario, seeks an experienced HR Generalist to serve as a strategic partner and operational expert supporting both Bizerba Canada and Bizerba Tekno Label in Longueuil, Quebec. This position focuses on providing hands-on HR services aligned with business objectives while ensuring compliance with Canadian employment laws. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in managing the entire employee lifecycle and fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer comprehensive HR guidance to managers and employees on workplace concerns, employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management.
- Lead HR initiatives across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding to enhance employee engagement and experience.
- Oversee payroll processing tasks including accurate handling of compensation updates, time tracking, benefit administration, RRSPs, and payroll documentation.
- Maintain confidential employee files, HRIS data, employment contracts, and related HR documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment activities such as posting jobs, interviewing candidates, selecting hires, preparing offers, and coordinating onboarding.
- Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, training arrangements, and conduct workplace investigations when necessary.
- Assist managers with performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, leave management, accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
- Administer employee benefits and serve as a key contact for related employee inquiries.
- Ensure organizational adherence to employment laws across Quebec and Ontario, and maintain HR policies and procedures compatible with best practices.
- Facilitate HR reporting, audits, policy revisions, and process improvements as part of continuous enhancement efforts.
- Contribute to special HR projects, employee communication, and Occupational Health and Safety activities including WSIB/WCB claim management and incident documentation.
- Travel monthly to the Longueuil site and occasionally with field employees as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Between three to six years of progressive experience in HR Generalist or business partner roles.
- Proficient in payroll administration, HRIS systems, recruitment processes, and employee relations management.
- Sound knowledge of Canadian employment standards particularly in Quebec and Ontario, with familiarity of Alberta and other provinces as a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to establish trust and maintain respectful working relationships across organizational levels.
- Strong multitasking skills paired with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Experienced in coach-style business partnering to effectively support managerial staff.
- Fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
